What’s Good About Bosch Tassimo?

When you run the  Tassimo, it has a nice quiet hum (a soft little “brrr” sound), a trait that is most appreciated in the early hours of waking. While it is not completely silent, the sound it makes can hardly be considered noise. Loud coffee makers can be very annoying and can earn the disapproval of their owners no matter how nice the quality of coffee they can produce.

One of the most important benefits of the Bosch Tassimo is its quick brewing time. If you want your coffee fast, that is exactly what you will get with this machine as there is barely any warm up time before it starts brewing your drink. You have your coffee in less than two minutes, even if you are using two pods to make a cappuccino.

Not only does it have a large reservoir so you need not refill it all the time, the reservoir has a handle so you have an easier time of removing it for cleaning, refilling or whatnot.

And when it comes to coffee quality, there is an improved water filter so your coffee’s taste isn’t compromised by the taste of hard water or unfiltered water. The T-discs taste really good and the barcode system makes for a smarter, no-fuss and a guaranteed great tasting brew every time.

If you are not really a milk or foam snob, the foamed-milk produce by the milk pods are very satisfactory at making lattes and other such blended drinks that needs milk.

Additions in the design like the power button that is located on the front of the machine is a really nice touch, it beats having to unplug it. There is cord storage so your countertop remains tidy; you can just pull out the exact length of cord you need. The piercing unit is well-made so that there is virtually little to no splatter. If you compare the  Tassimo to the Braun, there is no spatter, no puddles, no dripping, no splashed water; meaning no messy cleanups to deal with. Also, there is storage for the cleaning disc at the back of the machine so it is not misplaced.

Attention to details in the machine’s build and design makes it durable, very convenient, easy to use and maintain. It really gives you great value for your money.

TAS4511UC – Some Things to Consider:

Although the option to add water at the end of every brewing cycle is a nice little option because you can hold the button and you can manually determine the amount of water to add, some find that it adds to the overall wait time. Those who do not want to add any water and is completely fine with the regular brew always have to wait for the Bosch Tassimo to finish dripping. Tassimo should device a way to manually terminate the brewing cycle because the few seconds (doesn’t matter if it’s just 5-10 seconds more) of waiting for the machine to stop dripping can seem like eons for someone who can see that their coffee is already ready to drink but they still cannot remove it from the under the nuzzle

This can also add time if you are brewing multiple cups since you have to wait before you can remove the t-disc; if you get impatient you will get the mini effect of opening a hot pressure cooker: shooting hot steam and coffee grounds.

Apart from that, the only other issue is the availability of the T-discs. Tassimo Discs aren’t all that easy to get hold of from local stores as compared to other pod brands. If you want a wide range of T-disc variants your best option is going online and order directly from Tassimo. They do have a shipping schedule once a week (Friday) so make sure you do not miss that so you get your orders right away, or else, if you miss the cut-off, you would have to wait for next week’s.

Single Serve Coffee Makers – Summary

If you are already familiar with pod based beverage brewers, the pros and cons of using pods (T-discs) will not come as a surprise and will no longer be an issue. The costs of the T-discs are more or less the same as other pod brands. But if you are new to pod based brewers, know that pods, no matter what brand do cost more compared to regular coffee. But also consider that pods offer you the convenience and ease-of-use that traditionally brewed coffee does not.

Also, you might want to consider if you really consume all the coffee you brew in a pot. Some of the time if not all the time, people throw away coffee that has become stale and bitter, here you begin to realize how much cost effective using a single serve coffee maker is.

Apart from those issues with the T-disc and their availability as well as choices, the  TAS4511UC is a greatly improved version of the previous models of Tassimo pod system brewers.
